Women's Work...

       ...is a network of women co-creating abundance through three income sources:
  1. We raise money for the Women's Empowerment Umbrella Group Centre and for individual centres through a network marketing company that sells a library of inspirational material. Through that business, we also raise start-up capital of $1.4 million for individual projects - $10 one time.
  2. Once we have earned $70 through source #1, we begin earning money for our daily needs and to build our web presence through a company that provides all our online tools - unlimited web hosting, conference centre, autoresponder and web page rotator - $7 per month.
  3. Monthly events through a team effort. The investment will be divided amongst the participants.
The total initial investment for everybody is U.S. $10 plus your time to work on the event. The project consists of three parts:
  1. Community events to support the women in the group to promote their individual skills and products. There are three parts to the events:
    • fundraising;
    • entertainment;
    • individual creative product sales and reused products.
  2. A woman's Empowerment Umbrella Group Centre.
  3. Individual Women's centres that are created by individuals in the group as we grow.
Some suggestions for people who may like to be part of our project to support the event are:
  • tea leaf reader/angel cards/psychic
  • a bookkeeper
  • inventory control person
  • an event planner
  • a graphic designer
  • musicians
  • poets, story tellers
  • buyers
  • anyone who is interested in starting their own business
  • online marketers
  • offline marketers
As a team, our joint project is the event itself and recreating and selling pre-loved clothing, accessories and other items at our events.

How the money works:

Each participant must be a part of the funding program - U.S. $10 one time. Participants are paid according to how much effort they put into the event and how much income we earn. In other words, a percentage of profit goes to labour costs. That is then divided into the total number of hours worked and paid to participants according to the amount of time they spent on the project.

No specific time-commitment is required of individuals. Tasks can be shared so that everybody is comfortable with their work load. Each person keeps a time sheet and the income is totally dependent on the success of the event.

There is a company budget. When we earn money, we allocate it as follows:
  • 50% to overhead (joint expenses including internet presence, space rented, insurance, work done by members, etc.)
  • 20% to inventory for joint projects
  • 10% to advertising
  • 10% to contingency fund (to cover things that may go wrong)
  • 10% to profit
We leave the 20% in inventory and the 10% in the contingency fund but we cap them at $5,000 each. The caps may be reviewed at periodic meetings over time. Anything we don't spend goes to profit which is used for growth or divided up periodically.

Right now, we are unincorporated. We will incorporate the company out of profits when available. What we are asking people to do is sign a simple agreement to work in partnership with one another, sharing chores with the undertanding that we will agree upon an hourly wage that the collective will pay to members as we earn money.

Afternoon teas are served daily to discuss the project.
